Official: Russia, Iran to continue invest, econ cooperation

SOCHI, Nov 1 (PRIME) -- Russia will develop investment and economic cooperation with Iran, and the countries will continue joint operations on the hydrocarbon market, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told Rossiya 24 television channel on Wednesday.

“Iran is our closest neighbor and partner and a friendly country for us. Amid the current conditions, when our countries are targets of continuing pressure from enemies, including in the U.S., this impact has been elevated to a state policy, the more important contacts and interactions on all issues,” Ryabkov said.

“We will develop economy, carry out infrastructure projects, we will trade, search forms for investment cooperation. (We will) jointly work on the global hydrocarbon market, reduce dependence on the U.S. payment system and the dollar as a means of settlement. We will continue dialogue on the international global and regional agenda.”
